Take the MOT Annual Refresher Training (CPD) test

To meet the DVSA requirements, every year between 1st April and 31st March, MOT testers must complete at least three hours training, keep a record of the training completed for five years and complete an Annual Assessment. The DVSA publish an Annual Training syllabus outlining the mandatory elements the assessment will be based on.

The Annual Assessment covers new information from MOT special notices, additional guidance published by the DVSA, MOT inspection standards and procedures for your relevant vehicle class.

Failure to complete this training and assessment by 31st March will result in your MOT tester licence being suspended.

Testers who have lapsed or received a cessation will also be required to complete this prior to completing a demonstration test.
